Worldwide assistance in disasters and armed conflicts

You are standing at the entrance to the GRC Emergency Hospital — the same facility the German Red Cross is ready to deploy worldwide in an emergency. With emergency surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient care, it provides medical aid where the need is greatest.

Explore the stations at your own pace. The corridor in front of you forms a timeline: to your left and right, you will follow the patient pathway from admission to discharge. Posters displayed at each station provide insights into the daily operations of a Red Cross Emergency Hospital — such as the one the ICRC has set up and run with the GRC and other National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the Gaza Strip since May 2024.

You can find the texts describing the stations in German and English, along with further background information, via the QR code on this poster.

What you are about to experience is not an exhibit. It is a hospital ready for deployment.

After this trade fair, it will be packed back into crates, loaded onto trucks, and then stored in the GRC logistics centre - ready for the next mission. Where? We do not know. But of one thing we can be sure: it will be greatly needed by the people it serves.
