Inpatient care and monitoring
Patients who cannot be treated as outpatients are admitted to the ward. Here they are monitored, treated further and prepared for discharge.
The GRC Emergency Hospital is built modularly and can be deployed with 20 to 60 beds, depending on need.
The Red Cross Emergency Hospital in Rafah opened in May 2024 with 60 beds. Faced with a sharp rise in mass casualty events, bed capacity was increased to 72 beds from late May 2025. Since opening, more than 6,000 patients have been admitted as inpatients.
