Textile laundering and support services in the Emergency Hospital

Every day, large quantities of bed linen, towels, surgical textiles and staff clothing accumulate in a Red Cross Emergency Hospital. The laundry ensures that all textiles are hygienically clean and made available again promptly — a precondition for infection control throughout the hospital.

Support services also cover all auxiliary activities that keep medical operations running - from waste disposal and ward cleaning to the distribution of consumables.

Like all areas of the GRC Emergency Hospital, support services are built modularly and designed for self-sufficient operation under field conditions. They are among the areas often invisible to visitors — yet hospital operations would not be possible without them.
