S3 · Outpatient Examination
Diagnostics and initial care without admission
Most patients at a Red Cross Emergency Hospital are treated as outpatients — they are examined, treated and can usually be discharged the same day.
Here, in the outpatient examination area, a decision is made on whether a patient receives outpatient care or is referred to the clinical area of the Emergency Hospital for further treatment.
At the Red Cross Emergency Hospital in Rafah, 37% of all outpatients are children under the age of 18. The most common diagnoses include acute respiratory infections, injuries and burns. Since the hospital opened in May 2024, more than 250,000 outpatient consultations have been carried out.
